MINUTES OF LAST MEETING

RECEIVING OF CHAIRMAN’S ANNUAL REPORT

Chairman, Andy Plummer, presented his annual report.

 

RECEIVING OF AUDITED ACCOUNTS

Treasurer, Pauline Senior, presented the audited accounts.

 

It was proposed Sue Higham, sec. Nick Whittingham, that the accounts be accepted.  All in favour.

It was proposed Sue Charlesworth, sec. Paul Millward, that they be elected.  All in favour.

 

ELECTION OF AUDITORS

Mike and Anne Smythe agreed to act as auditors for the next financial year.

 

TO FIX THE AMOUNT OF ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS

Pauline Senior proposed that the annual subscriptions remain the same.  This was seconded by Martyn

Cartwright.  She also proposed that anyone joining during the months of July and August only pays subs for the following year, starting in September,  This is required because, currently, new members wanting to join the club during these months were found to be waiting until the start of the next financial year.  This was causing problems, especially with those people wanting to run in the winter handicap.

 

Ian Wragg again raised the subject of why should the club be dependent on the profits from the Show Race to prevent making a loss on the yearly accounts.  He felt that the subs should  be raised to a level to make the club financially solvent without the race profits.

 

A vote was taken on the Treasurer’s proposal and only one member voted against keeping the subs at the current level.

 

ADOPTION OF RACES FOR 2008 AND APPOINTMENT OF ORGANISING COMMITTEES

The following races were proposed for adoption by the club for 2008.

 

Hartcliffe Hill Race – to be held on 24th April.  To be organised by Pete McLeod and Barbara Haigh.

 

Thurlstone Chase – to be held on 12th July.  To be organised by Bob Innes, Jane Cockerton, Pete McLeod and John  Wright.

 

Penistone Show Race – to be held on 13th September.  To be organised by Sue Higham, Martyn Cartwright, Ian Wragg, Ian Charlesworth, Jill Davis, Martyn Goodwin and Paul Millward.

 

John Wright proposed that the club organise a one off fell race with all proceeds being donated to the Air Ambulance and Wharfedale Mountain Rescue Team as thanks for the treatment they gave to Dave Cartwright at the Burnsall Fell Race.  He proposed the date as Friday, 29th February with a minimum entry fee of £5, asking runners to raise sponsorship if possible.

 

TO RECEIVE AMENDMENTS TO CONSTITUTION RULES

There have been no amendments submitted.

 

DATE OF NEXT MEETING

The date of the next AGM was fixed for the second Wednesday in October, 2008.
