Northumberland Coastal Run. 20th July 2003. Weather sunny with quite a strong head wind blowing south to North. A small contingent Of PFRAC runners had headed to Northumberland, to take part in the annual coastal run that starts at Beadnell and heads down the coast some 14 miles or so to the finish at Alnmouth. About 6 miles of the run is on beaches with the remaining on coastal paths and a few small sections on roads. Overnight camp was at Craster with a BBQ on Saturday evening. Sunday was an early start to get the 08:30 bus from Alnmouth back to the start at Beadnell.

The winning time was 1:21:51 by Mike Openshaw of Birchfield Harriers. The race had 647 finishers.
